About us
It all started back in 2012
About us, well we (Alex and Dave) never started in the film or tv industry, but always had a desire for videography and film making. Understand camera tequniques and planning scenes became our passion. That was back in the day of video tapes and standard definition analogue cameras. Just to edit a short video took forever and the results were mediocre. We didn’t believe things were going to work out because it was so time consuming, but thank goodness for digital editing.
In the being it was a steep learning curve understanding the industry and all the new camera gear, LED lighting and audio equipment.
It wasn’t until we invested in training courses with professional lighting experts and camera operators that we got understand the importance of knowing your craft. As a result we have grown from strength to strength.
Fast forward to now. And we see the need to not just to make films. But to help business with their video marketing, corporate event filming, and marketing strategy and tequniques.
We have helped many business up and down the UK to develop creative and engaging video products. From filming and editing interviews to live event streaming, and even when needed a mobile green screen studio service.
Meet the Team
Dave McDonald
Filmmaker, Producer, Editor & Colourist.
David started working with cameras and computers from an early age, when things were tape and floppy disks. David founded SilverIslandTV after a working in automotive design engineering for some years. He has over 12 years experience producing and filming a diverse range of projects from live event streams to social media shorts.
When he is not behind a camera you will find him either paddling down a river in a Kayak with Alex or flying in a glider.
Alexander Brothers
Filmmaker, Producer/Director, Cinematographer and Production Sound mixer.
Alex first started making short film and travel documentaries from the age of 16 then eventually worked alongside Dave on numerous corporate and business promotional films. He has over 10 years experience producing and filming a diverse range of projects for SilverIslandTV. Alex enjoys the entire creative process of filmmaking in order to tell meaningful stories that engage and inspire.
When he is not behind a camera you will find him either paddling down a river in a Kayak, hurtling down a mountain with a pair of skis on, hitting golf balls or tending to his extensive Bonsai tree collection.
